Do you have those days when the thought of wading through all of your paperwork, emails and unanswered telephone messages makes you want to run away?
All businesses have periods of "busyness" and disorganization is tolerable for a short time. But if you feel like disorganization is an ongoing problem it might be time for you to take the bull by the horns and set some planning and organization goals!
Planning and organization isn't rocket science but it does require intent and commitment from you. It means designating a weekly and daily block of time to planning and sticking to it. Decide on a day of the week to devote to cleaning up your desk, putting unnecessary files and paperwork away, and creating a clear space to work from. (It works really well if you do this at the end of each work day).
Remember, physical clutter causes mental clutter.
Use a good planner/organizer to not only keep track of appointments and tasks, but also to forecast and build in time for the unexpected. When you are working on a project try and leave enough space in your work day to deal with those unforeseen issues that often crop up in business. Tempting as it is to cram as much as possible into your day, it isn't always the most productive.
To be our best we need space to rest, breathe and re-calibrate.
To be successful in business, organization and planning are a must!
Learning how to navigate those busy days by being organized will contribute to your business success.
